The EAGA Gospel Choir returned to Melton Mowbray on the weekend of the 5th to 6th October 2024, to minister at the annual Food and Drink Festival. The choir has become a popular feature of the different festivals that are hosted in Melton Mowbray throughout the year.
Additionally, a food stall that prepares and sell Afro-Caribbean meals (El-Ellah Catering) which is run by a member of the choir is constantly present at these festivals, serving some delectable food.
This year there was a high footfall of between 7,000 and 8,000 visitors each day. Some attendees travelled from as far as Manchester just to see the EAGA Choir, and they were not disappointed. On Saturday, the lead singer for some of the songs was the 12-year-old daughter of one of the choir members. She sang and led each song with confidence far beyond her years.
On Sunday, people came from near and far. They came from places such as Nottingham and Derby to hear the choir and have church. The choir’s ministration was moving, and one gentleman commented that it touched him to the core of his soul. As the organiser said at the end of the event, “The choir sang like angels and cooked like angels.”
The choir and El-Ellah Catering will be back in Melton Mowbray for the
ChocFest on the 16 and 17th Nov 2024
